Has anyone created their own religion? I've messed around with Rakehelism, no kool-aid or sneakers involved. Creating dogma isn't that hard. Just repeat the same lies. Tribal Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/ulintertribal

To some extent, don't all Agnostics create their own path? As soon as we say -- I don't know.....?

The word "path" is often, not always, used to denote spiritual choices other than just religious ones. The "user" makes choices without regard to what has been dictated and finds their own way. The Bible or Koran says "thou shalt" and thou will. Deviation occurs in religious cults or sects, but many of the same underlying principles or tenets of the original remain. Wicca is a religion, general pagan spiritual practices are parts of it just as with Christianity. Like the example here, Subud, paths may lead to a religion. Religions include dogma & beliefs that are unquestioned or expected to remain so, usually due to blind faith in the face of, for example, science or math. It was really more a facetious urge, but when I actually began to map out Rakehelism I realized it would involve constructing text, myhtology and rules really, that I didn't care to construct. With enough LSD and Nike tennis shoes, some bunk beds & communal living, I would've been done. (Delivering the gospel to adherents after ETs revealed it to me.) My point remains. I am an Agnostic. I'm not following anybody else's path, so I must be following my own. It goes to the heart of -- "I don't know". The comedian, Judy Tnuva announced that she was starting her own religion. She called it "Judyism".

Many people are following their own path, their own choices in Life. Possibly the majority of the people who've come to and you've met via the ULC. Mainstream Christian religion is declining in number of adherents in America. Others possibly doing the same. Religion's answers are old and often not applicable in any sense of coping with today's world. I don't know about the rest of the globe, would guess Europe is similar. Arab countries and groups don't find Christianity or Judaism very palatable, Muslim dogma seems to sit in the same Ship Of Fools. I believe that what's most important is whatever helps a person get through the Big Exit Door of Life. How they find comfort. Isn't that what all religions are really about? Death, Fear and an Afterlife? Tribal Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/ulintertribal

You are making a massive assumption. That religion is how we deal with the fear of death. To me, that suggests a fear of life. I think it is better to live life while we can. Life is short. We will be dead soon enough.
